Jennie Catherine Greemore Long

TERRE HAUTE — Jennie Catherine Greemore Long went to be with our Lord on Oct. 14, 2012, at the age of 96. She passed away at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Evansville. Jennie was born Jan. 1, 1916, on the family farm, in St. Francisville, Ill. She was the youngest and last survivor of 13 children. She was a retired nursing assistant. Jennie had been employed at St. Anthony’s Hospital and Clara Fairbanks Home for Women. Jennie was a past president of the Mothers of World War II. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Order of Eastern Star. Jennie was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She will be missed by her family.

Jennie was preceded in death last year by her beloved son, John Long of Virginia. She also was preceded in death by her infant daughters, Janette Rose and Barbara Jean.

She is survived by daughters, Helen Joan Brown of Indianapolis, and Susan Tincher of Evansville; sons, Larry Long of Clayton, and Jerry Long of Farmersburg. She has 17 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Jennie’s family would like to thank Good Samaritan Nursing Home and VistaCare for all the great care she received. God bless all the angels who helped care for Jennie.

Visitation will be at DeBaun Funeral Home, 85 E. Springhill Drive, on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. Father Bernie LaMontagne will be officiating. Online condolences can be made at:
