JASONVILLE —
Mary Ruth (Swalls) Johnson, 72, of Jasonville, passed away at 7:38 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, in Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center. She was born Dec. 19, 1939, in Vigo County, to Clarence Swalls and Elva (Beddow) Swalls.
Survivors include her husband, Karl K. Johnson, whom she married Nov. 12, 1965; sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Becky Johnson, and Jeff and Patricia Johnson, all of Jasonville; grandchildren, Brenli, Morgan and Austin Johnson; sister, Marjorie Quick of Farmersburg; and brother, Don Swalls of Jasonville. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frank Swalls and Bill Swalls.
Mary was a graduate of the Blackhawk High School Class of 1957. She had worked at Metropolitan School District of Shakamak with 33 1/3 years of service. She was a member of the Emmanuel Apostolic Church, in Hymera.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 S. Meridian St.. Private services will be conducted by Brother James Quick. Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery, in Midland.
