TERRE HAUTE —
Barbara O. Farris, 83, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 1:56 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, in her residence. She was born Aug. 20, 1929, in Pittsburgh, to Verner C. McKenzie and Mary M. Vermillion McKenzie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Farris on March 16, 2003. Survivors include two sons, William V. Pitts and Bob Farris; and three daughters, Mary Agnes Scott and her husband Ivan, Barbara Ann Striegel, and Jean Reed and her husband Gary; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and special friends, Phyllis Dickerson, Lyn Foye, Marsha McLoud, and Wanda Sydnor. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a special friend, Guinn Walker.
Barbara’s funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd St., in West Terre Haute. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12 noon until service time Friday.
