Rodney D. Patrick

TERRE HAUTE — Rodney D. Patrick, 53, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Union Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was born on Nov. 4, 1958, in Terre Haute, to William Nelson “Pat” and Eula Mae (Butts) Patrick. Rodney proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant in Communications Operations. He was stationed in Japan, Turkey, Scott A.F.B., and Chanute A.F.B.  Rodney enjoyed classic cars and the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, gardening, and cooking on the grill. He was passionate about veteran’s rights. He was an avid music fan and enjoyed his extensive collection of old time rock and roll and blues. He enjoyed watching the Colts play. Most recently, he loved using Facebook as a way of interacting with family and friends. He was a member of American Legion Post 346 and 40 & 8 Voiture 21. Rodney will be remembered for his unique sense of humor. He will be deeply missed.

Rodney is survived by his fiancée and companion, Camilla King of Terre Haute; brothers, Mike Patrick and his wife Weerawan of Terre Haute, and Tim Patrick and his wife Karen of Rosedale; a niece, Cassandra M. Patrick and her partner Crystal Murphy; nephews, Billy Patrick Sr., and Kit Patrick; great-nieces, Christina Patrick and Leah Overpeck; great-nephew, Billy Patrick Jr., soon-to-be stepchildren, Chelsie Burke and Bryan King; and close, long-time friends, Marsha and Rod Bex.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 11 until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Chaplain Dave Heaton officiating and military rites performed by American Legion Post 346.
