TERRE HAUTE — Ruth Charlene Carson, 82, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012. She was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Jan. 12, 1930, to Charles Sigglen and Irene Haljerson Sigglen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Carson, on April 30, 2005.

She is survived by her son John David Carson and his wife Sarah; and her grandchildren, Olivia Christine Carson, Jacob Dillon Carson, Grace Elizabeth Carson, and Isaiah David Carson. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Serena Joy Carson. Other survivors include nine stepchildren and their extended families.

Ruth was a member of Faith Wesleyan Church, Gideons International Auxillary, Christian Women’s Club, and was an active volunteer for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Assn., and Lighthouse Mission.

Funeral services will be at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Dan Gormong, Pastor Ray Austin, and Pastor Joe Gormong officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Historic Elmwood Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at 3 p.m. CDT, in Kansas City, Mo.
