Richard F. McClain of Osage Beach, Mo., died Thursday, July 26, 2012. He was born Nov. 8, 1930, to Paul and Florence McClain in Harvey, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene; children, Mike and wife Cindy, Dave and wife Peggy, Amy Edwards and husband Bob, Melissa, and Julie Snyder; grandchildren, Kim, Ashley, Ruth Ann and Madison Edwards, Macie and Mallory Snyder, and great-grandchildren, Hayden and Dylan Reedy. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth Ann, daughter, Lora and grandson, Dylan.
Dick established his business, Central TV Furniture and Appliances in 1954. Over the years, he had many businesses. His love of boating prompted him to start Central Marine at 701 N 9th, which many remember as the “place with the boat on the roof”.
A memorial tribute for family and friends will take place at Idle Creek Banquet Center, in Terre Haute, on Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m.
