Abbey Gail Raubuck

Abbey Gail Raubuck, 51, of Terre Haute passed away at 1:06 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, in Union Hospital. She was born Sept. 24, 1955, at Terre Haute to Albert “Abe” Certain and Marguerite Prather Certain.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, David Raubuck, whom she married Sept. 20, 1975 in St. Mark United Church of Christ in Terre Haute; one son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Autumn Raubuck of New York City.; one daughter, Sara Raubuck and her companion Aaron Brewer of Terre Haute; her mother, Marguerite Certain of West Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Meghan Irene Raubuck, Matthew Jakob Raubuck and Tristen Bradley Collester; two sisters, Anita Akers and her husband, Kenneth of Terre Haute, and Merry Milner and her husband David of Fairfield, Ill.; two brothers, Jon Ray Certain of West Terre Haute, and Martin Certain and his wife Amanda of West Terre Haute; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Curtis and Irene Raubuck of Terre Haute; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Daniel and Karen Raubuck; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father.

She was a member of the St. Mark United Church of Christ at Terre Haute. She was a loving, caring, talented person. She loved being a grandmother and spending time with family. She raised butterflies which she supplied to the area elementary schools. She was an excellent cook and seamstress and enjoyed making many things such as clothes, quilts, dolls, and various toys. She also loved animals, fishing, and working on the computer. She was always there to help with anything and when asked she would be right there to help.

Cremation has been scheduled. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Mark United Church of Christ, 475 S. Fruitridge Ave., with Dr. Jimmy Watson officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday in the church. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Covered Bridge Special Education District Autism Preschool, attn: Director, 1320 Walnut St., Terre Haute, IN 47807; or with envelopes available in the church. Fitzpatrick-Pearce Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
