TERRE HAUTE —
Ina “Jewell” Vanoven, 74, of Terre Haute, passed away at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. She was born on Aug. 26, 1938, to Lawrence Bass and Helen (Croy) Bass.
Jewell enjoyed working in her flowers gardens. She enjoyed traveling with her husband. Her family was her life. Jewell was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.
Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Vanoven, in 1998; her parents; brothers, Bill Bass, Edward Bass, and Bud Bass; and sister, Lucille Sorenson. She is survived by her children, Angela Vanoven, Julie Vanoven, and Bob Vanoven, all of Terre Haute, and James Vanoven of Ashmore, Ill.; and siblings, Sonny Bass and Wanda Fultz of Washington State; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 1 p.m. EST at Clarksville Cemetery in Marshall, Ill. Pastor Ric May will be officiating. The family entrusted DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive, with making arrangements. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
