TERRE HAUTE — Jacqueline (Bevis) Tamucci of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., passed away after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013. Jacqui was born in Riley, on March 31, 1923, and moved to south Florida in the 1950’s, making it her home. She was known to many as “Miss Jackie,” as she was a cosmetology instructor for many years in the Fort Lauderdale area.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Rathbun; granddaughters, Tara Porter, Linda Martin, and Susan Freeman (Dean); great-granddaughters, Amy Rathbun and Sara Martin; sister, Imogene Brewer; sister-in-law, Fredona “Donna” Bevis; and many nieces and nephews.

Jackie has gone to be with those who pre-deceased her; her loving and devoted husband, Camillo “Tam” Tamucci, Lt. Colonel USMC – Ret.; daughter, Cynthia Tamucci (Edwards); parents, Roy and Gladys Bevis; sister, Carrie Campbell; and brothers, Orrin Bevis, Alfred Bevis and Herbert Bevis.

To have known her was to love her. She was amazing and she will never be forgotten, she was and still is our angel.

Jacqui will be laid to rest with her loving devoted husband on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation or the Navy League of Fort Lauderdale, her most beloved causes.
