Fairy Lee Creasey, 82, of West Terre Haute passed away at 7:57 a.m., Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, in her residence. She was born Nov. 12, 1931, in Terre Haute to Edwin Ray Oxford and Fanny (Kent) Oxford.
She married Howard “Heavy” Creasey June 5, 1949, in West Terre Haute, and he preceded her in death in March 22, 2011. Fairy enjoyed going to family reunions, family vacations, sewing, reading and working crossword puzzles. She was an LPN, homemaker and mother.
Survivors include three daughters, Cathy Benjamin and husband Bob of Dennison, Ill., Jane Johnston and husband Steve of West Terre Haute, and Teresa Myers and husband Doug of Morton, Ill.; three sons, Howard “Lee” Creasey and wife Peggy of West Terre Haute, Tim Creasey and wife Jackie of West Terre Haute, and Sam and wife Casey of Jackson, Miss.; one brother, David Oxford of North Carolina; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons Glenn and Jim “Crow” Creasey; one granddaughter, Amy Creasey; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, with Pastor Jake Evans officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Sunday. Burial will be in Barnhart/Madden Cemetery. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice.
