Norma Kemper



MARSHALL, Ill. — Norma Kemper, 90, of Marshall, and formerly of Greenup, Ill., passed away at 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Burnsides Community Health Care Center. She was born on May 5, 1922, in Greenup, to Louis and Ida (Brownfield) Cutright. She married Carl Klenith “Todd” Kemper in 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1974.

Norma is survived by two sons, John (Barb) Kemper of Marshall, and Carl Robert (Emma) Kemper of Greenup; one daughter, Patsy Ann Kinsel of Casey, Ill.; five grandchildren, Kenny, Carl, Lisa, Norma Ann, and Katrina; two sisters, Nina Danforth of Anderson, Ind., and Betty Lou Higgs of Greenup; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by two grandsons, John Kemper and Raymond Kinsel Jr.; and one son-in-law, Raymond Kinsel Sr.

She was an over 40-year member of Plum Grove Church, where she served as song leader for many years.

Funeral services will be held at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., in Marshall, at 2 p.m. CDT Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, with the Revs. Larry Howard and Mike Russell officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date. For those so desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Burnsides Guild.
