Gary Lee Byrley Sr., 60, of Terre Haute, passed away March 10, 2013, in his residence. He was born Aug. 6, 1952, in Terre Haute, to Eugene Byrley and Vivian Taulbee Byrley. He was a graduate of Garfield High School and was a member of the U.S. Air Force.

Gary was a member of Christ Temple Church and American Legion Post 104. He enjoyed watching movies and going to church. He especially enjoyed reading his Bible and praying. Gary also enjoyed attending the Little Italy Festival in Clinton every year. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Eugene Byrley Jr.

He is survived by two sons, Gary Byrley Jr., and Bruce Byrley, both of Terre Haute; one brother, Richard Morris and wife Tonja of Indianapolis; four sisters, Darlene Zukokas and husband Larry of Terre Haute, Pamala Monroe and husband Michael of Oroville, Calif., Carrie Hassler and husband Harold of Cypress, Texas, and Vickie Palmore and husband Tim of Port Charlotte, Fla.

As were Gary's wishes, cremation has been chosen, with a private memorial service to be held at a later date. American Legion Post 104 will be performing military honors. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., was entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice Foundation, 900 Cooper St., Jackson, MI 49202.
