BRAZIL —
Virginia M. (Gerber) Church, 78, of Brazil, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, with her family by her side. Virginia was born Oct. 26, 1933, the daughter of Roy and Ruth (Lucas) Gerber. She was a well known cook that worked at various restaurants in Brazil. She took great pride in making her Coconut Cream Pie.
She was a member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. She enjoyed fishing, spending time with her grandchildren, and going to yard sales, and auctions. But most of all she loved her church activities.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Church; parents; three brothers, Harold Gerber, John Gerber, and Ted Gerber; one sister, Mary Elmore; and two nieces, Lu Ann Cunningham and Debbie Cox.
She is survived by her children, Dale Bryan and wife Connie of Brazil, Bill Bryan of Clay City, Reta Roach and husband Ed of Rockville, Bob Bryan of Brazil, Tim Young of Brazil, Tom Young and wife Nanette of Brazil, and David Young and wife Susan of Brazil; stepson, Dennis Church and wife Paula of Brazil; grandchildren, Jamie, Scot, Chelsea, Chad, Brad, Regina, Sheri, Mandy, Austin, Marissa, Mary, Lynn, Thomas, Melissa, Jessica, Ethan, Debbie, and Paul; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Gerber and wife Mabel of Harmony; sister, Mayme Johnson-Cox of Brazil; sister-in-law, Barbara Linton of Brazil; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Graveside service will be Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery in Brazil, on Airport Road, with Pastor Jacob Raubuch officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 2681 W. State Road 340, Brazil, IN 47834.
