TERRE HAUTE — Darlene Moseman went to be with her Lord on Feb. 26, 2013, at her home. Darlene was dedicated to the service of others through Christ and to her family. Darlene was born in Terre Haute, on Nov. 28, 1954, as Donna Darlene Shorter, to William and Donna Shorter. She graduated from Indiana State University in 1975. She earned a master’s degree from Indiana University. She has resided in Columbus for the past 37 years.

She married Steve Moseman in 1974, in Terre Haute, so this year would have been a celebration of 39 years of marriage. They have three daughters, Christina Reeves and Jannelle Moseman, both of Columbus, and Madison Moseman of Warsaw. Darlene has three siblings, Steve Shorter and William David Shorter, both of Terre Haute, and Cheryl Evans of Knoxville, Iowa.

Darlene loved to travel, read, play table games, teach children and make new friendships. She was a member of the Columbus Alliance Church, where she was very active in several capacities. She held various teaching positions over the years with Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson Schools, Indiana Business College, and Ivy Tech Community College. She was teaching classes for Ivy Tech when she passed away.

A party to celebrate her life will be held at the Columbus Alliance Church, 933 13th St., in Columbus, from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013. Formal presentations will be made at 2 p.m.
