Larry E. Ringo

BRAZIL — Larry E. Ringo, 71, of Brazil, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born in Clay County, March 11, 1941, the son of Karl and Virginia (Julbert) Ringo.

Larry graduated from Staunton High School with the class of 1959. Following high school he attended Indiana Business College. Larry retired from Cinergy, formerly Public Service of Indiana, in May of 1996. After retirement he worked part time jobs, where he enjoyed visiting with others. Among his many jobs were Sam’s Club, Eddies Sandwich Shop, French Funeral Home, and Maurizio’s Pizza. Along with his wife Donna, they owned and operated Party Rentals and Catering.

Larry enjoyed gardening, going to auctions, and spending time with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Ringo, Feb. 13, 2013; his parents, Karl and Virginia Ringo; brother, Ernie Ringo; father-in-law, Glenn Kumpf; and brother-in-law, James Kumpf.

He is survived by two sons, Kevin Ringo and wife Deb and Jim Ringo and wife Jenny; grandchildren, Connor, Leslie, Trevor, Madelyn, and Emily Ringo; stepgrandchildren, Stephanie, Robert and Courtney Plummer; his mother-in-law, Helen Kumpf; his sister-in-law, Carol Eder (John); sister, Kay Ann Deverick; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He also will be missed by his beloved Shi Tzu, Sammy.

Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, Tuesday March 5, 2013 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Services will follow at the funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steve Moore officiating. Private burial services will be held at Summit Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to YMCA of Clay County, 225 East Kruzan St., Brazil, IN 47834.
