JASONVILLE — Shelvy J. Goble, 73, of Jasonville, passed away at 4:32 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. She was born April 2, 1939, in Clay County, Ind., to Glen Burger and Helen (Perry) Burger.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie McDonald-Miller and Jay of Linton, and Tammie Goble and Roy Terrell of Jasonville; grandchildren, Justin McDonald, Tommy Terrell, Kanitra McDonald, Adrena McDonald, and Jordan Terrell; great-grandchildren, Gabe McDonald and Braxton McDonald; sisters, Joan Strahla and Dee Dee Woods; brothers, Freddie Burger, Kenny Burger, Donnie Burger, Bob Burger, Darrell Burger, and Mike Burger; life-long best friend, Judy White; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Janett Eberwine, Billie Crowder, and Carolyn Anderson; and brother, Clarence Burger.
Shelvy was a graduate of Coalmont High School class of 1958. She had worked at Charles Industries and retired from Peabody Coal Company as a heavy equipment operator.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian St., in Jasonville, with visitation scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at the funeral home with David Smith officiating. Interment will be at Sanders Cemetery in Lewis.
