Robert “Bob” Mitchell, 61, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on Sept. 26, 1951, in Vigo County, to Norman and Billie Jean Mitchell. He married Rena Riley, and she survives. Bob worked for 36 years at International Paper. He enjoyed fishing and camping.

Other survivors include his children, Robert “Bobby” Mitchell of Terre Haute, and Regina Bart of Tracy, Calif.; brothers, Terry and Mark Mitchell of Terre Haute, Charles Mitchell of Jasonville, and Gary Allen of Lewis; and a sister, Lisa Hixon of Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brent Mitchell; and sister, Connie Jones.

Per his wishes, cremation was chosen. A celebration of Bob’s life will take place from 2 until 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at The Bucket, 2414 Prairieton Road. Roselawn Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s name to the Terre Haute Humane Society, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, or American Heart Association.
