TERRE HAUTE — Oscar J. Miller, 80, of Terre Haute, went to be with God on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at 1:35 a.m. He was a retired lineman from PSI Energy, after 38 years of service. He was born April 8, 1931, in Landsberg, Germany, to Henry Miller and Frances (Ederer) Miller.

Oscar was a devoted husband and loving father who left behind a wife, Nancy (Underwood) Miller; a daughter, Christine McGee of Indianapolis; a brother, Henry Miller and wife Roberta of Brazil; two grandchildren, Karlie McGee and Richard McGee IV; nephews, Steven Miller and Henry Miller; stepnieces, Karen Glicksman, and Edith Zimmerman and husband Larry; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Underwood. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Capt. Ralph Carl Miller.

Oscar was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was active in the German Oberlandler Club, and was an avid soccer fan. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a scripture service at 7 p.m., in Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph University Parish, with Friar Mark Weaver officiating. Burial, with graveside military honors, will be in Calvary Cemetery. If friends so desire the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to either the Ralph Carl Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund at Indiana State University; or to the charity of their choice.
