TERRE HAUTE — Eleanor Virginia Mann, age 85, of Huntington, died at 2:44 a.m. Friday (June 29, 2012) at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Eleanor was born on April 16, 1927, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to Carl Harry and Florence Goldie (Baker) Krause. She was a 1945 graduate of Tech High School, Indianapolis. Indiana. She attended Indiana University in Bloomington for two years. Eleanor married Judge Dane E. Mann on May 12, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana. They had been married 41 years before he preceded her in death on July 20, 1987.

Eleanor worked as a secretary for many years and enjoyed working as a Substitute Teacher for the school system. She also worked for Huntington College as a Librarian Assistant and later at St. Francis University, in Fort Wayne, as a Development Secretary.

She was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Huntington. Eleanor enjoyed being involved in many organizations. She was the past officer of the Dames Club of Indiana University, Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority in Marion for 20 years, Psi Iota Psi in Huntington for 20 years, Republican Party and Women’s Association in Marion and Huntington.

Survivors include a son, Lee Arthur (Pamela G. Menas) Mann, of Long Grove, Illinois; one nephew, Arthur S. Burge, of Kokomo; three nieces, Debbie McIntosh, Ellen Ferrell, and Chris Seeley, all of Indiana. Her parents, husband, a son Dennis Edward Mann and a sister Ruth K. Paul preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (July 7, 2012) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Funeral Services at 1 p.m. Saturday (July 7, 2012) at Bailey-Love Mortuary 35 West Park Drive. with Rev. Raymond Scribner officiating. Burial will be held in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Guestbook may be signed at: www.baileylove.com
