Regina Lynn Gibbens

CLAY CITY — Regina Lynn Gibbens, 54, of Clay City, passed away unexpectedly at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at her home. Regina was born Dec. 5, 1957, in Terre Haute, Ind., the daughter of Eugene L. Pine and Helen Veronica (Colderbank) Pine. Regina was a 1976 graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, Ill., and graduated from Ivy Tech University in 1978 with a degree as a Lab Technician. She worked at Regional Hospital in Medical Records and at Clay City Elementary as a cook for 7 years. She retired in 2000 due to complications with Diabetes. She married Steven W. Gibbens on June 28, 1980, in Marshall, Ill.

She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church of Brazil, Ind. Regina loved being a “grammy” to her grandchildren, walking, baking and taking care of others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Helen Pine; and a granddaughter, Gina Stone.

Regina is survived by her husband, Steve; three children: daughter, Veronica (Tim) Stone of Terre Haute; sons, Justin (Katie) Gibbens of Terre Haute, and son Kevin (Angela) Gibbens of Brazil; four grandchildren, Angel and Olivia Haynie, Jarrett Stone, and Jacob Gibbens; a sister, Nancy (Ted) Anderson of Toledo, Ill.; and several extended family.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church, Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Father John Hollowell officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., in Brazil, Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Rosary will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, 200 S. Park Road, Suite 100, Hollywood, FL. 33021. Visit www.frenchfuneralhome.com to light a candle in her memory.
