Coal City — Dorothy M. Shouse, 91, of Coal City, passed away June 14, 2012, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Jasonville. She was born Nov. 6, 1920, in Clay County, the daughter of John W. Klass and Susie Leohr Klass. She graduated from Coal City High School. Jan. 1, 1940, she was united in marriage to W. Parker Shouse. Together, they lived and raised their family in Coal City until his death Dec. 20, 2010. She was an active member of the Coal City Community Bible Church. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and visiting yard sales. She loved collecting recipes and most of all collecting memories with family.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Lisa Shouse of Clay City, and Ron and Brenda Shouse of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Stephanie Joy (Brad), Danny Pike (Jennifer), Amber Shouse, Billy Shouse (Susan), Ricky Shouse, April Strange (C.J.), Jason Shouse, Marcie Mayfield, and Theresa Mayfield; 15 great-grandchildren; Brother, Herman Klass (Gloria); sister-in-law, Peggy Shouse; other extended family

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Parker Shouse; daughter, Diane Mayfield; grandson, Mark Shouse and sister, Bessie Vandeventer.

Services will be Monday, at 1 p.m. at the Coal City Community Bible Church with Pastors, Denny Livingston and Brian Holt officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Arrangements were entrusted to Schoppenhorst Funeral Home. Light a candle in her memory at:
