TERRE HAUTE — Sharon Rose (Stewart) Byers, 74, of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Union Hospital. She was born on June 2, 1938, in Terre Haute, to Harold and Francis (Smith) Stewart. She graduated Garfield High School in 1956. She worked at ISU and later ran a daycare center in her home, where she cared for and loved many children. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Laureate Gamma Eta. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Rick; their children, Shelly Pettyjohn and her husband Lance of Avon, and Rick Byers and his wife Melissa of St. Louis; grandchildren, Danyale Short, Meg, Jacob and Seth Pettyjohn and Isabella and Elijah Byers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wife, Mom, and Mimi will be remembered for her caring nature and love for her family.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2012, at Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N. Clinton St., with a Beta Sigma Phi ritual taking place at 7 p.m. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Brett Byers officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Hospice of the Wabash Valley, 400 8th Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47804.
