TERRE HAUTE — Monzella Bernice “Monnie” Grady, 64, transitioned to be with the Lord on Feb. 18, 2013, in the presence of her loving family. She was born Oct. 10, 1948, in Terre Haute, to Cleveland and Sarah P. (Stewart) Brown Sr. She retired from Circle K after 19 years of service. She was a member at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher and worked in other various capacities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Grady; her parents; one son, Phillip “Hubba” Vinson; and four sisters, Myrna Stewart, Jemima “Lou” Scott, Anna Brown, and Wetonna “Earleen” Stephens; one brother, Lewis Brown; and mother and father-in-law, William and Emma Grady. She is survived by four sons, Bernard Brown, Rodney and Bobby Lee Vinson, Terre Haute, and Carlos Vinson, Indianapolis; three daughters, Sarah Stewart, Green Bay, Wis., Sheila “Shane” Vinson, Kenosha, Wis., and extended child, DeShana Johnson, Terre Haute; five brothers, Cleveland Brown Jr., Leonard Thornton and Felton Johnson, Terre Haute, Edward Broomes-Ortiz (Felicia), Terre Haute, and Herschel Thornton (Debra), Norristown, Pa.; two sisters, Elizabeth “Berta” Brown and Glenda Grady (James), both of Terre Haute; one aunt, Helen Hill, Terre Haute; several grandchildren who called her “Auntie” or “Auntie Granny”; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Saints Home Church of God In Christ Church, 2210 N 13th St., with the Rev. T. Michael Russell officiating. Burial will be in Stewart Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church.
