TERRE HAUTE —
Tonya Lee Boyd (Carty) (Bracken), 44, of Terre Haute, and formerly of Clinton, crossed the Jordan River to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at her residence. Tonya was born Aug. 15, 1968, the daughter of Joseph R. Bracken Sr. and Mary I. (Hensley) Bracken. Tonya was a certified nursing assistant.
Tonya was preceded in death by both parents; siblings, Joseph Ray Bracken Jr., Thomas Lee Bracken and wife Ruth, and Lorrie Ann Bracken; nephew, Charles Allen Williams Jr.; infant nephew, Thomas Lazarith Weger and infant great-nephew, Jacob Williams; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tonya is survived by her husband, David C. Boyd; son, Donald J. Carty and wife Kayelia and daughter, Alice L. M. (Carty) Cooper and husband Billy, all of Terre Haute; granddaughter, Kristian Carty of Clinton; brother, Jack E. Bracken and wife Nana of Utah; two sisters, Peggy S. Weger and husband Tom, and Opal E. Davis and husband John; two aunts, Della Jarvis and Dorothy Ashmore; one uncle, Virgil Cheesman Jr.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tonya enjoyed listening to gospel music and spending as much time as possible with her granddaughter and other family members.
Tonya has left this life to enter her eternal life with Jesus Christ.
A graveside service will be Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, 1 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery on Margaret Ave., with the Rev. David Lowe officiating. There also will be memorial services at Friends Church, 1 block north of Margaret Ave., on 9 1/2 St., Monday and Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
