Rosemarie Perdiew

TERRE HAUTE — Rosemarie Perdiew, 79, of Terre Haute, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in Union Hospital. She was born January 19, 1933 in Terre Haute to Charles L. McKinney and Minnie Strassler McKinney. She was a homemaker and survived by her husband, Dale Perdiew.

Other survivors include three daughters, Susan Pfrank and her husband Steve of West Terre Haute, Linda Young and her husband Larry of Alger, OH and Diane Rowley and her husband Claude of Terre Haute; a son, Tom Perdiew and his wife Nancy of Bright, IN; a sister, Barbara Craig of Indianapolis; a brother, Robert McKinney of Frederick MD; nine grandchildren, Carolyn Pfrank of Bloomington,  Danny Pfrank of Terre Haute, Jamie Young of Philadelphia, Jeffrey Perdiew of Vincennes, Kristin Perdiew of Bright, IN, Evan Perdiew of Terre Haute, Brooke Sapp and her husband Kenny of Terre Haute, Lauren Rowley of Terre Haute and Kraig Dierdorf and his wife Abby of Terre Haute; and two great-grandchildren. Rosemarie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles L. McKinney in 1994 and Minnie McKinney in 1970; a brother, Charles R. McKinney in 2009; and a son, James A. Perdiew in 2006.

Rosemarie was a graduate of Wiley High School class of 1951 and was Extension Homemaker of the Year in 1977. She was a former organist at St. Leonard Catholic Church in West Terre Haute and a former Humane Society Board member. She was a former Teacher’s Aide at West Vigo High School and was the first female X-ray technician at Union Hospital. Rosemarie was an avid reader, expert crossword puzzle solver and loved to cross stitch.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 5, 2012 in St. Joseph University Parish with Friar John Bamman officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, October 4, 2012 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph University Parish, 113 S. 5th Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807.
