Ruth A. Fritz Olmi

TERRE HAUTE — Ruth A. Fritz Olmi, 86, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at 9:56 a.m. in Union Hospital. She was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Hoosierville, Ind., in Clay County to Raymond Fritz and Ruth Alethia Nicholson Fritz.

Ruth was a homemaker. She graduated from Brazil High School. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Ruth was in a Bunko club, she loved flowers, people and was a great cook. She was a mentor to everyone she met. Everyone was always welcome in her home, especially her children’s friends. She often took care of people who were less fortunate, sick or alone. She was very generous and a very loving wife and Mother.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Olmi, who passed away in 1996; and a son, Jeff Ream, who passed away in 2009.  

She is survived by daughters, Sherry Olmi Pound and Susi Olmi Ream, both of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Sam Ream of Terre Haute and Jamie and Paul Williams of Amo, Ind.; great-grandchildren; Brian Williams of Amo, and Chelsea Williams of Amo. She is also survived by “ special family,” Mike, Becky and Stephanie Stoehr, Danny and Donnie Ream and Randy Stevens. She is also survived by a son, Ray Olmi and his wife Cindy of West Terre Haute; grandsons, Ray Olmi and Eric Olmi; great-grandson, Austin Olmi.

Services will be Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th St., Terre Haute, IN 47804. Visitation will be today, Sept. 27, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Bill Dawson will be officiating; burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
