TERRE HAUTE — Margaret “Mickey” Ann Staggs, 58, of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, in Union Hospital with her family by her side. She was born Aug. 28, 1953, in Terre Haute, to Harold Staggs and Margaret “Peggy” Holmes Staggs.

Mickey is survived by her sons, Chad and Lee Chrisman; her father, Harold Staggs; and siblings, Janet Campbell and her husband Glen, Linda Johnson and her husband Guy, and Michael Staggs and his wife Lori. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins; and special sisters, Treva Gallagher, Stacey Rodriguez, and Betty Goad. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret “Peggy” Holmes Staggs.

Mickey attended Wiley High School and was in the first graduating class at Terre Haute South Vigo High School. She worked for several years at Columbia House then the Vigo County School Corporation, Covered Bridge Special Education District, and Ivy Tech. Her most favorite job was being a job coach for special needs students. Mickey was an avid sports fan of Terre Haute South, IU, and the Colts. She also loved to bowl. She was a member of St. Joseph University Parish and had been attending St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, in St. Patrick Catholic Church ,with Father Rick Ginther officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. on today, in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, 1801 Poplar St., Terre Haute, IN 47803; or the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
