CLINTON, IND. — Sandra Geraldine Delaise, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at Houston Hospice in Houston, Texas, at the age of 66, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandra was born April 21, 1945, in Clinton, the daughter of the late Theodore Wiley and Geneva Allie (Davies) Jones.

She was united in marriage to Robert P. Delaise, and together they shared nearly 40 years together. A hardworking and determined woman, Sandra began working at Eli Lilly and worked from the ground up, eventually retiring from the Human Resources Department. As a dedicated and loving family woman, Sandra always put others before herself. She greatly loved her family and friends, and also enjoyed traveling, playing dominos, country rides and being near the ocean. Her generous, giving and loving spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched for generations to come.

Sandra leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Robert P. Delaise; children, Angel and husband Jeff Wineinger, Tony and wife Sherri Haymaker, Brandy Delaise, and Paul and wife Dahlia Delaise. She will forever be remembered by her grandchildren, Cassie and husband Andy Ellis, Torre and husband Justin Ditto, Nathan and Alyssa Haymaker, Mackenzie, Noah and Landon Delaise, and Matthias and Belen Delaise. Sandra is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Cael and Emma Ellis, Troy Ditto and Baby Ditto on the way

In addition to her parents, Sandra was welcomed home to heaven by her brothers, Theodore and Robert Lee Jones.

The entire Delaise family would like to extend a special thanks to Houston Hospice for the compassionate care that was provided to Sandra in her final days.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, from 11 a.m. until the time of Sandra’s funeral at 1 p.m., at First Baptist Church of North Terre Haute. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, in Terre Haute. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Houston Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the church.
