Hilda Corby, 71, of Terre Haute, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012. She and her twin sister, Tilda Hogue, were born on June 4, 1941, in Terre Haute, to Percy and Mary (Bauman) Steele.
She retired from the housekeeping department at Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. She regularly attended the Boot City Opry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Eugene Corby in 2002; a son, Bobby in 1969; a brother, Herman Steele; and two sisters, Betty Steele and Tilda Hogue. She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Lynn Corby; a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Tootie Corby; her granddaughter, Shasta Marie Corby; a special niece, Arlene Bryan and her family; and two nephews, Roy and Ricky Hogue.
Funeral services will be in DeBaun Springhill Chapel at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery near Riley. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until services on Saturday. Online condolences may be offered at: www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
