Cleave C. Ingram

TOLEDO, Ill. — Cleave C. Ingram, 93, of Toledo, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3 2012, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, Ill. Cleave was born on Jan. 13, 1919, in rural Cumberland County, the son of George and Ella (Vontonborg) Ingram. He married Lois Jackson on Dec. 20, 1958, and she preceded him in 2001.

Surviving are children, John wife Teresa Ingram of Sullivan, Ill., Jack wife Cris Ingram of Toledo, Joe Henson wife Judy of Montrose, Doug Henson of Toledo, Norma husband Marty Marshall of Toledo, and Kathryn husband Glenn Elson of Terre Haute, Ind.; a brother, Don Ingram of Toledo; 10 grandchildren, Derek, Kyle, Corey, Ethan, Tyler Ingram, Krista (Elson) Ferando, Bryce Elson, Daniel and Doug Henson, and Katie Marshall; three great-grandchildren, McKenzie Henson, Chilton Ingram, and Rhys Ferando. Cleave also was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers; and three sisters.

Cleave worked for Koenig Manufacturing for 20 plus years and Fedders Corp. for 20 plus years and was push mowing several yards in Toledo till past his 85th birthday. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines. He was a faithful member of Toledo First Baptist Church, and a life member of Toledo American Legion post 764.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. CDT on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral chapel. Burial with military rites conducted by Cumberland County Veterans will be in the Brush Creek Cemetery in Springpoint Township.
