Debra J. Sollars

CLINTON — Debra “Debbi” J. Sollars, R.N., 58, of Clinton, died at 6:39 p.m. Feb. 26, 2013, in Torrance, Calif. She was born June 28, 1954, to Owen “Steve” Ross Barker and Charlotte Elizabeth Hobbs, in Clinton.

She was a retired registered nurse from Union Hospital Clinton and received from West Central Community Hospital Excellence in Nursing Practice Award, May 1999.

Her memberships are Sacred Heart Church, Clinton, Indiana State University Alumni and Indiana University Alumni, Deputy Coroner, Vermillion County, Ind., Author of “Fast Track, Critical Care Drips Precalculated Infusion Rates” copyright 1993 Nurse Traditions - Debbi Sollars RN, CEN and Cindy Watson RN, BSN, also, CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse), ENA (Emergence Nurses Association), PALS (Provider American Heart Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, National ENA (Emergence Nurses Association), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Care Course), American Heart Association, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care Provider, ACLS Provider and became an ACLS Instructor, and BLS Healthcare Provider.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Delbert Marlar; and sister, Maureen Roper. Survivors include her husband, George Sollars of Clinton, whom she married July 22, 1977; three daughters, Marcella Lynn Walker and her husband Dustin Lee of Clinton, Lynette Marie Baker and her husband Kevin Lee of Farmersburg, and Stephani Jo Milette and her husband Daniel Alexander of Kenai, Alaska; five grandchildren, Brianna Michelle Baker, Gavin Lee Baker, Johnathon Gage Walker, Mercedes Marie Baker, and Aryana Sky-Lynn Walker; three sisters, Bonnie Gregg of Rockville, Dianne Kaye Bartlett, LPN, of Crawfordsville, and Jan Tuttle of North Vernon; one brother, Richard Fisher of Springfield, Mo.; two aunts, Barbara Baker of Hudson, Mass., and Sr. Mary Barbara of Connecticut; one uncle, Carlton “Bob” Hobbs of Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.

Prayer service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Giovanini Funeral Home, 408 Vine St., in Clinton, followed by Mass of Christian burial in Sacred Heart Church at 11 a.m. with Father Joseph Villa officiating. Cremation to follow service. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the funeral home.
