TERRE HAUTE —
Betty Jane Brown, 90, of Terre Haute died Saturday, September 29, 2012 in Meadows Manor East Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center. She was a devoted housewife. She was born April 10, 1922 in Terre Haute to Benjamin Alexander Bailey and Sarah Louisa Padgett Bailey.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, George E. Brown; two sons, Michael William Brown and his wife Janie of Cookville, TN, and Patrick Allan Brown and his companion Emilie Teaff of Desoto, TX; a daughter, Valerie Carol Brown of Brownsburg, IN; a brother, John A. Bailey and his wife Joyce of Terre Haute; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Brown of Riley; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Bailey and Mary Smith both of Terre Haute; two brothers-in-law, Archie Goodwin of Terre Haute and Edger Brown of West Palm Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Jefferson Howard Brown, Donald George Brown and Gregory Paul Brown; five brothers, Ben, Merrill, Carl, Duane and Bob Bailey; and two sisters, Pauline Brodie and Doris Goodwin.
Memberships include Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution. Betty enjoyed cooking, crocheting and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with Pastor Aaron Wheaton officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled prior to services on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
