TERRE HAUTE — Karen Jo Lowe, 69, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born in Terre Haute, on Jan. 23, 1943, to Chester Orman and Nellie Houck Orman.

She is survived by her husband, Charley E. Lowe, whom she married Dec. 24, 1959. Also surviving are her children, Charley Alan Lowe and wife Pam, Robin Lynn Dis Pennett and husband Tony, and Danny John Lowe and wife Laurie. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Trish Taylor, Joseph Jackson, Damien Lowe, Jessica Anderson, Mark Dis Pennett, Amber Lowe, and Melinda Hoke; as well as nine great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters-in-law, Theodor Orndorff and husband Barney, and Virginia Lowe; a brother-in-law, Samuel Lowe; and one nephew, Wesley Orman. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dale Orman; a brother-in-law, John Lowe; and also by a nephew, Bobby Orman.

Karen was a member of the West Terre Haute American Legion Post 501 Ladies Auxiliary.

Funeral services will be held at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, today, July 20, 2012, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Dennis Leek officiating. Burial will follow in Durham Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for today, July 20, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at: www.debaunfuneralhomes.com
