TERRE HAUTE —
Charlotte Mundell, 87, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 1:09 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, in the Terre Haute Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Terre Haute. She was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Paris, Ill., to Dale Cohoon and Nellie Richey Cohoon. She married Herschel Frederick Mundell on Nov. 23, 1940, , and he preceded her in death on June 12, 1999.
Herschel and Charlotte had 15 children and they were preceded in death by one of their sons, Donnie Mundell in 1971. Survivors include their 14 children, Irene Dillingham and her husband Paul, Sharon Waggoner, Larry Mundell and his wife Lena, Bonnie Harris and her husband Billy, Johnny Mundell and his wife Lori, Randy Mundell and his wife LouAnn, Gary Mundell and his wife Barbara, Martin Mundell, Anita Elrod and her husband Eddie, Cliff Mundell and his wife Vickie, Pete Mundell and his wife Susan, David Mundell, Mona Vines and her husband Jerry, and Russell Mundell; a sister, Juanita Adkins; 36 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 25 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; three grandchildren, Ronnie Waggoner, Doug Dillingham, and Terry Dillingham; two sisters, Ramona Tryon and Martina Dowell; and a brother, Dale Cohoon.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and she loved playing bingo and going to the riverboat casinos.
Charlotte’s funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with Mark Mundell officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12 noon until service time Wednesday.
