Marci E. McDonald Boysen, 43, of Fortville, passed away Aug. 22, 2012. Marci was born Aug. 13, 1969, in Terre Haute, to Michael L. and Sheila A. McDonald. She graduated from Brownsburg High School in May 1987.
Marci always knew what she wanted. This trait carried over to her professional life as well. After attending Wilma Boyd Travel School, in Pittsburgh, Marci was lured home to pursue her dream in travel and became a flight attendant with ATA Airlines. Through her perseverance and dedication, she mastered various positions at ATA and Ambassadair Travel Club and fulfilled her passion for seeing the world. She truly excelled in her work with corporate group and incentive travel and ultimately achieved her professional goal of becoming a business owner as a partner with Bottom Line Travel Solutions.
Marci’s strengths were in her creativity and the relationships she built with all of her clients whom she considered close friends. Throughout her never-ending pursuit to provide the best experience possible, Marci always maintained her fun, vibrant personality. Her passions in life were family, boating, the Indianapolis Colts, all racing at the Indiana Motor Speedway, and traveling with work, family and friends.
Her compassionate side led her to volunteer her time with Ambassadors for Children where she was an original board member. She spent her time here helping to bring medical care, educational supplies and much needed love to kids in countries around the world including Mexico, Cuba and Kenya among others. Her giving spirit carried on as she was an amazing fundraiser and advocate for various charities. Marci has touched the lives of people near and far with her brilliant smile and infectious laugh, all while celebrating her life in a big way with the people she loves.
Marci met her best friend and soul-mate, Kenny J. Boysen, appropriately at the Las Vegas Airport on an ATA flight delay in the Spring of 1998. They married in May 2000, on Sanibel Island, Fla., and raised two beautiful boys, Ben, 10, and Trey, 6.
Marci is survived by her loving husband, Kenny J. Boysen; sons, Ben and Trey Boysen; parents, Michael L. and Sheila A. McDonald; siblings, Matt McDonald, Marti Michelle McDonald Trout (Tim); grandmother, Martha Fletcher; uncle, Roger Fletcher; aunt, Bev Sigler (Jon); parents-in-law, Kenny, Sr. and Malu Boysen; sisters-in-law, Denise Boysen, Ivonne Boysen Mendizabal (Eduardo), Sandra Boysen Navarro (Pedro), Stephanie Boysen, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road. A Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Ben and Trey Boysen Educational Fund, in care of Old National Bank, Routing #0863000123, 11700 Olio Road, Fishers, IN, 46037.
