PARIS, ILL. —
Madeline L. Irish, 94, of Paris, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Twin Lakes Rehab and Healthcare in Paris. She was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Sanford, Ind., the daughter of the late Dean and Edna (Funkhouser) Eastham. She married Charles Terrance Irish on Feb. 12, 1949, at First United Methodist Church in Paris. He preceded her in death Dec. 13, 2012.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Connelly of Paris; two grandchildren, Lori (Norman) Wilson and Charles Connelly, both of Paris; three great-grandchildren, Shadow Miller and Gracie and Lauren Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest, Wayne, and Harold Eastham; three sisters, Ruth Guymon, Wilma Wright, and Leah Metcalf; and an infant brother, Paul Eastham.
Mrs. Irish was a member of First United Methodist Church and Edgar County Home Extension. She will be remembered as a devoted homemaker and loving caregiver who was happiest when her home was filled with family and friends.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Paris.
Services celebrating her life will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. CDT Monday, March 11, 2013, at Templeton Funeral Home, 600 E. Court St., in Paris. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
