JASONVILLE — Steven W. “Pete” Duncan, 68, of Jasonville, passed away at 8:06 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, in his residence. He was born Feb. 26, 1945, in Brazil, to Robert Duncan and Verna Maxine (Miller) Duncan. Steven married Carol Sue (McGavic) Duncan Sept. 4, 1965, and she passed away on Oct. 22, 2000.

Survivors include his children and spouses, Michael and Tamie Duncan, Bradley and Andrea Duncan, and Mischelle Busby, all of Jasonville; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Donetta and Bud Travis of Clay City, and Connie and Bob Orman of Brazil.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife.

Pete was a carpenter where he worked in construction in the Carpenters Local 1745 Union Member for 45 years. He was a member of the Terre Haute Assembly of God Church, and Jasonville American Legion Post 172. He served in the National Guard for six years. He was a NASCAR race fan and was an outdoorsman, where he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, in Jasonville, with visitation scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the funeral home, with Pastors Mark Messmer and Floyd Stone officiating. Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, with military graveside rites. Contributions may be made in memory of Pete to the American Diabetes Association or Vista Care. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
