Darrell Andrew ‘Whitey’ Bracken

TERRE HAUTE — Darrell Andrew “Whitey” Bracken, 55, of Terre Haute, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at IU Health Methodist Hospital, in Indianapolis. He was born May 31, 1957, to Emery Bracken Sr. and Alberta Bracken.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Darrell Elder Sr.; and a brother, Emery Bracken Jr.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Darrell Elder Jr. and fiancée, Rachel Manicke, Mindy Elder, and Peggy Elder; a great-granddaughter, Makenzie Elder; two sisters, Beverly Bracken and Norma Bracken; three brothers, Harry Bracken, Vern Bracken, and Don Bracken; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Darrell will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time Thursday. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Darrell Bracken Memorial Fund to assist with expenses, with envelopes available in the funeral home.
