  An Interstate 5 bridge over a river north of Seattle collapsed Thursday evening, dumping vehicles and people into the water, the Washington State Patrol said.

Dorothea Bruner

TERRE HAUTE — Dorothea Bruner, 92, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Davis Gardens. She was born May 2, 1920, in Hammond, to Herman and Barbara (Eberly) Kors. Dorothea loved spending time with her family and cooking big meals for everyone to enjoy. She doted on her grandchildren. Dorothea was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed crocheting and canning.

Dorothea is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ader of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Chris Marrs and husband Jim, Brenda Wilson and husband Neil, Jory Reed and husband Michael, Sherrie Basham and husband John, Kathleen Drake and husband Bob, Wayne Bruner and wife Brenda K. Bruner; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Bruner; and special nieces and nephew, Linda Kors, Pat Mistak, and Tim Kors.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Bruner; son, Robert Bruner; great-grandson, Colby Anderson; and three brothers, Harold, Herman, and Kenneth Kors.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at St. Peter and Paul Church, 5885 Harrison St., Merrillville. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the time of services Friday. Burial will follow at German Methodist Cemetery, in Cedar Lake  Online condolences may be expressed at: www.roselawnfunerahome.net
