TERRE HAUTE —
D. Valeta Potts, 95, of Terre Haute, passed away Feb. 25, 2013, at Royal Oaks Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 6, 1917, in Haggerstown, to Clifford and Delpha Kuhn. Valeta retired from Indiana State University after 17 years of service in the cafeteria.
She was a member of Cross Tabernacle Church. She loved to make quilts for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Potts and wife Lois, and Ron Potts and wife Vicki; one daughter, Betty Parsley and husband Ken; one sister, Martyne Graham and husband Don; 14 grandchildren; several great-grand-children and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Valeta was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Potts; one son, Clayton “Butch” Potts; two granddaughters, Cathy Potts and Rebecca Tice; grandson, David Potts; four brothers and one sister.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, with visitation from 11 a.m. until services Thursday. Officiating will be Keith Taylor. Burial is at Roselawn Memorial Park.
