Leland R. Case, 85, of Terre Haute, passed away at 5:31 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, in Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He retired from the Vigo County School Corporation, where he worked in the maintenance department for 22 years. He was born Aug. 26, 1927, in Terre Haute, to Hubert Case and Eva Stark Case.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Wardenburg Case. Survivors include his daughter, Bonnie Case of Terre Haute; and a sister, Dorcas Ralston of Blanford. He also was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Hubert “Junior” Case.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, in Durham Cemetery, with Brother Mark Mundell officiating and military graveside rites provided by the Vigo County Veterans Honor Guard. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, West Terre Haute, assisted with arrangements. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leland Case memorial fund with envelopes available at the graveside service.
