William Lee Pinkston

William Lee ‘Bill’ Pinkston of Terre Haute and Farmersburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013. He was 62 years old. Bill was born Dec. 18, 1950, in Martinsferry, Ohio, to Bill and Pat (Spencer) Pinkston.

He was a 1969 graduate of North Central High School and attended Indiana State University. He also became certified as an interaction management, vision and values and goals and objective instructor. Billy, as he was affectionately called, retired from Pfizer as the head facilities manager in April 2006 after 36 years of loyal service. He recently was hired by Thompson Thrift as the warranty service manager. Bill was a skilled golfer, talented businessman, life mentor to countless people, and a strong follower of Christ our Lord and Savior. He attended Maryland Community Church.

Bill was preceded in death by his two precious sons, Michael Andrew and Matthew Lee Pinkston, who met him at the gates of heaven. He also was preceded by his maternal grandparents, Tressie and Russel Spencer; and his cousin, Charles Riggs. He is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 42 years, Beth Elaine (Williams) Pinkston of Terre Haute; his parents, Patricia and Bill G. Pinkston; his eldest daughter, Missy Hopper and her husband Larry Hopper, and their children Emma and Brady; his  youngest daughter, Alison Fell, her husband Derek, and their children Emma and Anaston; his son, Len Snell and his wife Kim and their family; his eldest sister, Susan Hendrix and her husband Jim Hendrix and their son Ryan Hendrix; his youngest sister, Cindy Hendrix and her husband Jeff Hendrix and their children Nicole Amodeo, her husband Jamie and their daughter Hadley, and Lara Rhoten and her husband Grant; and his sister-in-law, Jane Smith, her husband Jeff and their children Amanda, Abbie, and Ben.

Billy will always be remembered for saying “Thank you God, I am grateful.”

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, with the Rev. Ron Riggs officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until services. Burial will be in Farmersburg Westlawn Cemetery. The family is accepting contributions that will be used to create a memorial garden in his memory or you may donate to the Bill Pinkston Memorial Fund that has been set up at First Financial Bank.
