ROCKVILLE—Loraine E. Leatherman, 93, of Rockville, died at 5:40 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, in Ben Hur Home of Crawfordsville. She was born March 1, 1919, in Parke County, to the late Ronald Ball and Martha Alexander Ball.
She retired from Danner’s in Crawfordsville and the Milligan Store with many years of service. She was a graduate of Marshall High School and a member of the Judson Baptist Church.
Her husband of 39 years, Carl B. Leatherman, whom she married Jan. 31, 1942, died Aug. 15, 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Chester (Shelly) Leatherman of Russellville, and Ed (Stephanie) Leatherman of Montezuma; three daughters, Karla (Ryszard) Panuszka of Brownsburg, Connie (Larry) Davies of Pennsylvania, Shirley (John) Perry of Rockville; six sisters, Ethel Cullin of Florida, Ruth Hayes of Seymour, Betty Irelan of Judson, Loretta Hobbs of Marshall, Ind., Susie Alexander of North Carolina and Marilyn Rubley of Waynetown; 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in Gooch Funeral Home at 112 W. Howard St., Rockville, with the Rev. David L. Wise officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville. Visitation is from 9 until 11 a.m. Tuesday. Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to the Ben Hur Home Alzheimer’s Unit, 1735 S. Grant Ave., Crawfordsville, IN 47933 in her memory.
