BRAZIL — Doris “Dody” (Bennett) Patrick, 90, of Brazil, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012. She had been in declining health for the past several years. Born Aug. 28, 1921, in Brazil, she was the daughter of Gordon and Marie (Fox) Bennett. She was a member of the former Forest Avenue United Methodist Church and currently Peniel United Methodist Church. Doris was extremely well known in the Brazil area as a baker of delicious pies and homemade noodles.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Lee Patrick. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Bennett; two sisters, Jean Bennett Hassler and Betty Bennett Beeler; four grandchildren, Lee Ann Modesitt Brown and her husband Johnnie, Gregory Ray Schrameyer, James Patrick Modesitt, and Jill Marie Schrameyer.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Ray Schrameyer of Lake St. Louis, Mo., and Janice and Larry Modesitt of Reelsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Brenda Southerlin Patrick of Parker, Colo.; two sisters, Jane Bennett (Ray) Jeffries and Shirley Bennett Sonnefield; one sister-in-law, Lois Patrick Glenn, all of Brazil; three grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and Maureen Schrameyer of McKinney, Texas, Susan Diamond of Pensacola, Fla., and Kristen Schrameyer of St. Charles, Mo.; seven great-grandchildren, Kyle Brown and fiancé Tara Richey, Matthew and Brittany Schrameyer, Ryan and Erin Smithies, and Autumn and Logan Schrameyer; and nieces and nephews.
Services for Dody will be Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., in Brazil, with the Rev. Richard Pippin officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Peniel United Methodist Church, 9525 N. Kennedy’s Crossing Rd., Brazil, IN 47834.
