Clifford G. Sears

Clifford Guy Sears, 91, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Union Hospital. He was born on Dec. 6, 1920, in Terre Haute, to Albert and May (Rushaw) Sears. He married Thelma E. Shoup. Clifford proudly served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor. Clifford worked for many years in maintenance for the Vigo County School Corporation. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Free and Accepted Masons. Clifford enjoyed fishing and collecting gadgets. He was known for his easy-going nature. He will be truly missed.

Clifford is survived by his grandchildren, Cliff Sears and his wife Heather, Steven Sears and his girlfriend, Shannon Cleaton, and Kaycee Sears and her boyfriend Anthony Powers, all of Terre Haute; great-grandchildren, Christian Sears, Steven Sears III, Haley Sears, Trista Powers, Waylon Powers, Stacie Powers, and Marissah Powers, all of Terre Haute; and a daughter-in-law, Linda O’Donnell of Terre Haute.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma; a son, Steven Sears; and a daughter-in-law, Lynda Neice.

Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N. Clinton St. A funeral ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.
