Edward C. ‘Bud’ White Sr.

Edward C. “Bud” White Sr., 72, of West Terre Haute, went to heaven at 2:26 a.m. on Oct. 31, 2012. He was born Sept. 3, 1940, in West Terre Haute, to Mary Oricks White and William White.

He left behind his wife of 38 years, Mary Kay; one daughter, Lisa Stephens and her husband Gary; three sons, Buddy White and his wife Tiffany, Tom Gowan and his wife Terry, and Bob Gowan and his wife Lynn; five sisters, Leona Maples, Catherine Gard, Flo Dickerson and her husband Clarence, Mary Waldon and her husband Charles, and Terrie Rose Cooper and her husband David; three brothers, Roger White, Tom White and his wife Dottie Ann, and Jack Snow and his companion Char; several nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren, Liana Frye, Kayla Lee and her husband Timmy, Shaelynn White, Braiden Gowan, Makalah Stephens, Walter Gowan and his companion Nicole, Bobby Gowan, Kristy Gowan and her companion Jeremy, Jeffrey Dwyer, and Ashleigh Kernstein; eight great-grandchildren, Kamlyn Jordan, Braxton Richards, Waylon and Wyatt Frye, Noah Gowan, Davin Gowan, BreAisha Stephens, and Brenley Stephens; and special friend, Dusty Kernstein. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Oricks White and William White; a sister, Nancy White; three brothers, Jimmy White, Tim Tucker, and William White; two brothers-in-law, Howard Maples and Bill Gard; two nieces, Cassandra “Cassie” Dickerson, and Jackie Sue Roberts; and a nephew, Jack Lee Weir.

Bud was a member of the International Laborers Union Local 204 in Terre Haute for many years. He attended the Dresser Church, where his son Buddy serves as pastor. Bud was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, and “poppy”. He will be greatly missed and always loved by his family.

Bud’s funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, in Dresser Church, 226 S. Hobson Place, in West Terre Haute, with Pastor Buddy White officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12 noon until service time in the church Friday. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Dresser Church with envelopes available in the church. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, in West Terre Haute, assisted with arrangements.
