JASONVILLE — Timothy A. “Tim” Betts, 51, of Jasonville, went to Heaven at 2:41 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at Sullivan County Community Hospital, in Sullivan. He was born March 24, 1961, in Toledo, Ohio, to Ted Betts and Donna (Grisham) Betts.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Jacob Betts, whom he married Feb. 28, 1981; daughters and sons-in-law, Amy and Jerod Barton, Ashley Betts-Craig and RJ; son and fiancee’, Timothy Betts II and Kayla Mann of Jasonville; grandchildren, Brylea Barton and Adilea Barton; his parents of Jasonville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Julie and Jimmy Mascari of Lithopolis, Ohio, Billie and Dave Johnson of Jasonville, Doris Stout of Bloomfield, and Trisha Betts of Jasonville; brother, Steve Betts of Jasonville; mother-in-law, Phyllis Jacob of Jasonville; grandmother, Lorene Gardner of Jasonville; sister-in-law, Tina Hill of Jasonville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father-in-law, William D. “Billy” Jacob; and a nephew, Jimbo Mascari.

Tim currently worked as a correctional officer at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility in Carlisle, having worked there for 16 years. He was a 1979 Shakamak High School Graduate. Tim loved his wife, kids and grandkids more than life itself. Family meant the world to him. He was a wonderful, loving caring man. He had several hobbies. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and working in his garden. He also enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds play baseball. It goes without saying that Tim was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan and now he has the best seat in the house. He will be missed by all of us yet he will never be forgotten.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. until service time Friday, at Cox Funeral Home. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, with Pastor Tracy Hamilton officiating. Interment will be at Lebanon Cemetery, in Midland.
