Steve Shane Wilson, 49, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 in his residence. He was born Dec. 28, 1962, in Terre Haute to Walter L. “Jack” Wilson and Betty A. Long Wilson.

Steve was a 1981 graduate of Terre Haute South High School. He worked as a roofer. He was a life- long resident of Terre Haute. He loved gardening and being outdoors, especially fishing, hunting mushrooms and cooking out on the grill. His favorite color was blue. Everybody in the neighborhood loved him, they all looked out for each other. He received the Youth Appreciation Award on Nov. 29, 1978, and in 1979, at age 15, received the Chief of Police Award for rescuing a woman from a burning house.

Steve is survived by his parents; a brother, Jackie G. Wilson of Terre Haute; sisters, Tina Martin, Angela Wilson Dudley and Diana Wilson, all of Terre Haute and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana with visitation from 1 p.m. until service time. Online condolences may be made at:
