Kenneth E. Weir Jr.

GREENFIELD — Kenneth E. Weir Jr., 64, of Greenfield, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospice. Born on Sept. 6, 1947, in Terre Haute, he was the son of Kenneth E. Weir Sr. and Pauline (Daley) Weir. Kenneth worked at General Motors as an operator and machinist for 35 years before retiring in 1999.    

Kenneth was a member of Pendleton Baptist Church and of the UAW. He loved cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Additionally, Kenneth was a United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam war.

Surviving him are his children, Kenneth B. Weir of Greenfield, Laura Weir of Greenfield, Darla (Tom) Kottlowski of Fountaintown, and Kendra (Zach) Seal of Markleville; sisters, Connie (David) Shoemaker of Lyford, and Paulette Smith of Florida; and grandchildren, Patrik Seal, Kaela Weir, Brandon Weir, Douglas Weir, Isaac Seal, Noah Weir, Andrew Seal, and soon to be born Kenzie Jo Kottlowski.   Preceding him in death were his parents; and a nephew, David Shoemaker.  

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at 5 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Pastor Dennis Clark will be officiating.
