MARSHALL, ILL. — Robert M. Maxwell Sr., 77, of Speedway, Ind., passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at his home.

He was a retired service station operator who worked for many years with his wife and son at the Wake Up Station, which is located across from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

He was born on Oct. 27, 1934, at Heyworth, Ill., the son of Marie and Thomas Maxwell. He was married to Virginia M. “Jenny” Sanders who preceded him in death on April 4, 2008, and also was preceded in death by a son, Todd Maxwell.

Surviving are his children, Robert Maxwell Jr. of Speedway, Travis Maxwell of Heyworth, Tarol Maxwell of Muldraugh, Ky., Doyle Shotts of Greenwood, Ind., Theresa Husselman of Whiteland, Ind., Charlotte Plummer of Champaign, Ill., Cheryl Bujaj of Oakwood, Ill., and Debbie Farrar of Champaign; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Services in honor of his life will be 1 p.m. CDT Friday, July 27, 2012, at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., in Marshall. Burial will be in Livingston Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences will be accepted at: pearcefuneralservices.com
